An Ounce of Retention

While we are familiar with the adage that "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure", one of the more overlooked aspects of knowledge management is the practice of retention, of keeping the hard-won learning within a company.  Tell me what you think about the concept I provide here; I would love to hear from any of you who share a similar interest.
