This office has put up a wonderful informational website
Intangible Asset Network about public sector intellectual assets. I like that it uses a broad definition of intangible assets including not just IP but also know how, training and software.
The primary focus of the site is identification and protection of intangible assets. I think that it could be debated how much protection public sector know how needs to have. But they are right to suggest creating a list of key assets and understanding who controls the rights.
Of course, the real opportunity for both the public and private sectors is taking intangibles management to the next level and focus on how to best leverage and maximize an intangibles portfolio.
