- What is your interest in IC?
- Helping family owned and privately held companies realize their true, marketable value by recognizing and leveraging their intellectual capital. Most companies focus only on tangible assets and ignore the potential for brand, unique organizational processes and partnerships with their customers.These and other intanglibles are the true builders of value.
- For you, what is the definition of IC?
- Intellectual capital is the essense, the backbone and the DNA of an organization that enable it to be successful in a competitive world. It is not measured by bricks and mortar and can be destroyed if values, culture and processes are not cultivated and grown.
- How does IC relate to your work?
- My consulting work with clients unearths and leverages those special and unique aspects of an organization that are most valuable and most underused. Typically, these intangible assets are not carried on the balance sheet and are considered by many as "interesting but not essential". Ironically, companies that identify and leverage their DNA are wildly successful and valuable.
